A wonderfull mum, nan, great nan who we missed loads
she was my nan, we found out she had lung cancer a few months before her death, when she
was told she was so strong, she just carried on as nothing was happening, afew weeks prior to her
passing we could see she was getting more breathless each day but still was stubborn as ever and
wanted to do things for her self! on the actual day of passing, me my 2 young children and my
brother was round her house enjoying a cuppa and a natter when she started to cough up blood, it all
happened so quickly , it was a pm ( plumonary embolism) that caused her death! we called all the
family up who all came to say there goodbyes , apart from my mum who was in america at the time it
happened , and even to this day feels guilty for not being there,, she will always be in our hearts
always and forever,...

In Sympathy

So sorry for your loss. Your story has touched my heart. My nan passed away in July and it feels like my whole world has been taken away. On this site their memory can live on. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God bless. I hope you find this poem of comfort, as I have done. x

What is Dying?

A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says 'She is gone'.

Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large now as when I last saw her. Her diminished size and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone at my side says she is gone there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout 'There she comes!'

That is what dying is. An horizon and just the limit of our sight.

Lift us up, Oh Lord, that we may see further.

We never understand heartache
Until it lands upon our door
The hurt your family feel of losing you
Will be with them forever more....
